1942. Civilian volunteers sail across the Atlantic, while enemies lie in wait. Their ships carry supplies that are the lifeline for the Allies, yet they themselves are given little armament. You take on this role as a merchant marine captain, one with a higher death rate than any branch of the US Armed Forces during the war.

Notes

Headphones are highly recommended, as audio cues are used to assist the player.

In terms of seriousness, I thought I'd have more fun taking the theme more literally, thus the topic of this game :) But you might have fun with the thought that I've turned the Kriegsmarine into Freddy Fazbear mechanics-wise

Press "V" (for victory) to unlock Custom Mode in the title screen (or beat the game)

Tips (in honor of the sinking of the Tuunaa during Convoy HX 193)

  • You can spin the ship's wheel while holding up the sonar, map, or morse key.
  • The ship's wheel can spin two revolutions in both directions; use it to its full capacity.
  • Sending morse code with the spacebar can be done anywhere.
  • Enemy warships will only have one audio cue in the direction they are in, while the Luftwaffe can be heard until they are gone.

A Side Note on History

Each piece of this game is meant to represent some aspect of the real WW2 convoy experience. The 1st voyage is for the Second Happy Time, when the US wasn't protecting the East Coast. The 2nd and 3rd represent conventional convoys, with German surface fleet involvement following that of the goal of the Bismarck and Operation Berlin. The 4th and 5th are for the Arctic convoys, with the increased difficulty meant to demonstrate just how deadly it was.
